民国初年，西北大灾，沙陀市赈灾黄金被盗，马思懿奉命追查，却卷入贪嗔痴的仪式性杀人案中。马思懿步步为营，在当地警察、民团、军阀的各方势力中，逐渐接近事件真相，最终追回黄金，用于赈灾。。The story begins in today Istanbul, when a woman called Işık (Bade İşçil) arrives at an old house.
